About Us:
Lamy's Black Belt Academy, Ltd. was first
located in Lebanon, NH and established
in 1994 by Master's Paul & Amy Lamy. After Mrs. Lamy was seriously injured
in an automobile accident in 1996, they had to close their school. However, the
Lamy's never gave up on their dream of owning/operating a martial art school. So
after settling in Southern NH, the birth of their child, the
"Master's" re-opened the academy at its current location on July 10,
2000 in Milford, NH.
The Academy
teaches the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Like other martial arts, Tae Kwon
Do teaches more than just kicks and punches. Students learn and build
Discipline, Self-Defense, Focus, Control, Confidence, Goal-Setting and other important life
skills. Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling martial art made famous by the Gracie family of Brazil.
In Jiu-Jitsu, students learn how to defend themselves while on the ground
through locks, arm bars, choke holds and more. Jiu-Jitsu is often the basis of
the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) & UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships).
