She will be testing for her Green Belt (also called a 6th Gup) on March 5, 2010. Besides training in Tae Kwon Do, Sophia’s hobbies are Arts & Crafts, collecting stuffed animals, and collecting rocks & minerals.

Some of Sophia’s favorite things are: FOOD: Sour Dill Pickles, Pizza, Tacos; MOVIE: Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief; TV SHOW: Survivor, Fairly Odd Parents, Full House; BOOK: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Harry Potter Series; SINGER/GROUP: Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift; COLOR: Lime Green, Sky Blue; SEASON: Autumn & Spring.
Sophia’s favorite Tae Kwon Do technique is any Fly-By Kicks. When she isn’t doing Tae Kwon Do, Sophia loves to play Soccer and go Swimming. Sophia is “excited to be testing for her Green Belt and her first Tournament. Peace Out”! We are very proud of her (and the other students)! Congratulations on being Student of the Month!Black Belt Testing Prep Classes:

Parents Day A Success:
On Saturday January 16, 2010, it was "Parent's Day" at the studio. We had a record number of students with their parents for a great class. Although the Do Jang floor was crowded, we made it work and had fun in the process!
We want to say "Thank You" to ALL the students and their parents for coming out and joining in for a great class! We also want to say "great job" on learning Kibon 1 & 2, and doing so well with the kicks and self-defense techniques. Hope to see you join us for regular classes!!!
Until the next "Parents Day" class...
Parent Forum & Dinner a "Big" Hit:
On Saturday February 6, 2010 @ 4pm, Lamy's hosted their 2nd Parent's Forum & Dinner. The Lamy's served Salad, Lasagna, and Toll House Chocolate Chip Brownie. After eating the very delicious meal, Master Lamy Sir went over upcoming events (aka school happenings), discussed community involvement, in-house promotions, asked the parents to do testimonials (we need to update them), asked for feedback from the parents, and so-on. Although we didn't finish until nearly 7pm, we had some great ideas and discussions. We look forward to holding another session in the summer or fall. We hope you can join us then!
We also would like to say "Thank you" to all that were able to join us! We hope you enjoyed it!
Any menu ideas for next time? :-)

Mini-Tournament a success
On Saturday March 6, 2010, Lamy's Black Belt Academy held a "mini-tournament" for students. Master Kalutkiewicz's came and brought a handful of his students too. It was a great day weather wise, competition wise, and fun too!
Students who are 'new' to the schools and to 'tournaments' got a chance to learn what they are like while having fun in a small studio setting. Veteran students got a chance to get some practice in before the 'big' tournaments this spring. Also, black belts got some experience judging. All in all it was a wonderful day!
Thanks Master K. for joining us!
